Gingerbread Cookies

Ingredients:

Cookies:

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 cup butter

2 eggs

2 tablespoons molasses

3 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon ginger

1/2 teaspoon cloves

1/2 salt

 

Icing:

1 1/2 cups confectioner’s sugar

2.5 tablespoons milk

Instructions:

Step one:

Preheat oven to 375°F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Step two:

Cream the butter and sugar together, about 2 min. Add egg and molasses. Mix until combined. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt. Mix until it’s all combined.

Step three: 

Roll out dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch. Use a gingerbread man cookie cutter (I like to use various sizes) to cut out the the cute gingerbread men. Place on a lined cookie pan.

Step four:

Bake for approximately 8 minutes, depending on the thickness of the dough. Place cookies on a cooling rack and let cool completely.

Step five: 

Mix up icing mixture and uses a plastic bag to pipe faces and buttons onto the gingerbread men. You can leave it at that or feel free to give him some buttons with candies or add some sprinkles to add color.

Serve:

Enjoy these cuties immediatley with a glass of milk!
