Biscuits

Ingredients:
 
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons sugar 
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup buttermilk

Instructions:

Step one:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Step two:

In a medium bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, cream of tartar and salt. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or a fork and knife until it’s a course crumb.

Step three:

Create a well in the middle and add buttermilk. Stir to bring mixture together.

Step four:

On a clean and floured counter lightly kneed the dough around 10 times. Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thick and cut with a 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter. Place on baking sheet. Brush tops lightly with buttermilk. 

Step five:

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately with butter and jam.
